Kol has never really been much of a mentor to the people he's changed; they've always been so random and not generally of any use to him. But this time it's different. This time it's a friend, and he'd rather he understand than fall victim to wild bloodlust he can't control. Kol remembers how it feels, afterall.
He nods at Ubbe's agreement to be the volunteer, urging him closer, but stopping him before he's too close. Kol comes to stand behind Sigurd, his voice low and quiet. "You hear it, don't you? Every heartbeat in the room. Focus on Ubbe's...and only his..."
Once that little exercise is over, he beckons Sigurd's brother over and takes his wrist. It's a little less risky for a new vampire than going straight for the jugular. His eyes and the veins around them darken and his fangs reveal before he bites into the Viking's wrist, drawing blood. It will be more than enough to draw Sigurd's new nature to the surface. The scent of blood is too strong to ignore.
