Alex feels so much of the anxiety that he's still feeling over the whole conversation, the weird mix of worry and excitement and hope...fear that came with where they ended up in it and having Michael here, now. He tightens his grip on his hand for a moment.
"okay," Alex says and there's then a laugh and this is all so strange for them. He knows it is. But before anything else he reaches up with his hand that's free to touch Michael's face, his hand sliding into his hair, tangling fingers in his curls as he leans in to press a kiss to his lips. He'd always been a bit more fearless than he might have should have been when it came to kissing Michael.
Michael relaxes some more when Alex kisses him. This, at least, is familiar, and after their far-too-honest text messages and all this new ground, it's good to have something familiar. He tightens his fingers around Alex's in turn, and cups his cheek with his other. The flash of familiar is something of a relief from all the things said and unsaid...maybe more said than unsaid right now, but some things still linger.
He nibbles lightly at Alex's lower lip and wonders just how badly he really needs that beer. Then again, maybe, if they're trying to do this differently, they should actually...do it differently. That might mean more words, though, the other honest ones he's less sure about, so kissing Alex seems far, far easier to do.
Alex too is second thinking the beer, especially with the way Michael's teasing his lower lip, the warmth of his hand on his cheek. He presses another kiss to the other's lips, deepening it again and his fingers twisted slightly in his hair.
But it doesn't go much further than that, he reluctantly forces himself to pull back, fingers slowly untangling from Michael's hair and the temptation to just throw himself into it again is so strong but he resists it.
That choice was an easy one, really. Maybe it wasn't the best choice, or the wisest, but if they'd decided that they were doing this for real, then didn't that deserve to be celebrated? And beer was an every day thing. A better celebration, surely, would be something they hadn't done in a while?
"Turns out, I'm not really thirsty..." He leaned in again, capturing Alex's lips in another kiss.
Alex feels a bit of a thrill at Michael's choice, tilting his head and his hand instantly finding it's way back into Michael's hair like it belongs there. His tongue brushes out against Michael's lips, tasting him more fully as he uses the hands that are still holding one another to pull Michael further into the bedroom.
He really hadn't planned this exactly but it worked out just as well.
Michael goes very willingly where Alex leads. If they hadn't talked in a while, maybe this would be just falling back into old patterns, but since they have said a lot tonight, if, admittedly, via text, this seems like something different, something new in its own way. This is them, saying they're going to try this for real, which means it's them doing what people who are together do, not them pretending like it doesn't mean something that the only time they feel right is when they're together.

Michael's body is so warm, he can feel the heat emanating even through the layers he's still wearing where the other's hand settles on him. He leads Michael further into his room toward the bed until he felt it pressed against the back of his thighs. He pulls his head back to look at him, licking his lips.
"I love you," Alex says and the words are soft and there's a hesitation in them, saying them like that without a safety net really. He lets go of his hand and his hand slips out of his hair as he sits on the bed and pushes himself back onto it a bit before his hands go to his pants, eyes never leaving Michael as he does.
Everything stops in Michael's head when he hears those words, in the present tense, here and now. His breath catches, and he finds himself staring at Alex for a long moment, even as Alex sits and starts undoing his pants. Then he smiles, and it's real and bright and lights up his whole face.
He strips off his shirt, then puts his knee on the bed, leaning over Alex and ducking his head to brush another kiss over his lips.
"I love you, too," he murmurs, and maybe it feels weird to say it aloud and so steadily, but he feels almost giddy when he does.
Alex isn't sure for a moment how Michael is going to react to the words. They'd never really been said that way before between them. He didn't have to worry long, by the time his pants are unzipped Michaels' smiling at him. It's the happiest he's seen Michael in... a long time.
There's a sigh of relief, audible, really, as Michael kisses him. His hand briefly goes to the other's chest, a brief touch really before the words are given back to him. He feels like his heart is going to burst out of his chest. He had half been expecting that Michael wouldn't say it, that he'd just kiss him and they'd move on to the sex without actually acknowledging the words past the smile, the kiss the other's body language.
His hand slid away from the other's chest to move back to his pants to work them off, knowing he'll have to get his prosthetic off too and it'd be better to get it done earlier rather than when they're more worked up.
Michael gives him the space he needs to get his pants and his prosthetic off, but only just. He doesn't want to stop touching in the meantime, so he settles next to Alex's side, ducking his head to nibble along the line of his neck, the curve of his shoulder. Distracting? Maybe a little. But it's also a chance to touch, to explore, before they get swept up completely. Just having time to enjoy each other, not desperately try to squeeze in everything before they came to their senses.
But they're trying this for real, and they've said the words he never really thought they would, and there's a euphoria rushing through him that's something akin to how it felt when he took that first leap and kissed Alex in the museum a decade ago.
So, he touches, fingers trailing slowly down Alex's chest, then back up, while he nibbles at Alex's ear, tongue teasing and tracing over skin.
Alex moves quickly to get everything out of the way, though, it's difficult with the other's mouth on him. It's certainly distracting and more than a few times he had paused his eyes falling shut when the other pressed a nibble to a, particularly sensitive spot. He exhales heavily as he finally shifts to turn to look at Michael again.

"Guerin..." Alex murmurs, his other hand moving to the other's side guiding im to move over him as he settled back on the bed. They didn't have to rush but he wanted more contact.
Michael shifted with Alex, stretching out over him, not about to complain about more contact. His kiss is just as hungry, and he realizes he should've used Alex getting undressed to do the same himself. But there's something kinda hot in still being half-dressed with Alex naked under him.
His tongue teases against Alex's as his hands slide over him with far more intentional touches, dragging his fingertips down Alex's side, curling his hand around his hip for a moment, then stroking back up over his side again. With a nip at Alex's lower lip, he goes back to tracing the outline of Alex's ear with one fingertip.
There is definitely something incredibly sexy about Michael still being partially clothed when Alex is already named beneath him. He is hyper aware of it as the other settled. He felt the heat rising as the others hand moved over his body, an ache settling right at his core.
Their lips part too soon as the other nips at his lip, closing his eyes at the touch that leaves his skin tingling.
Michael huffed out a bit of a laugh. "What's that thing they say- it's not teasing if you intend to follow through?" He dragged his lips lightly down Alex's throat, nibbling on his pulse point and then sliding to tongue across his collarbone, enjoying the taste of him, and the way he can feel Alex breathing under his lips.
He shot a wicked grin up at Alex, before adding. "I mean, follow through eventually..."
Because he wanted to make this last, to send Alex out of his head.
Alex makes a soft sound, somewhere between pleasure and frustration. "It's definitely still teasing," he retorts but it feels good -- it just makes him ache. He already wants Michael so badly and the other knows how to play his body perfectly. His breathing is heavier and his hand pushes into the other's hair again, fingertips curling into his scalp.
Fuck. He's just too good.
"Eventually? When I already want you so bad?" It's Alex doing a little bit of teasing himself.
"Eventually," Michael says with a smirk against his skin. He keeps up the slide of his tongue, then nibbles lower, tracing one nipple, then the other, as his fingertips dip in and out of the shallows of his hipbones.
"Maybe you want me bad, now, but you're still formin' sentences. I'll follow through when you're not able to anymore..."
Alex arches into the other's mouth, groaning at the nibbles the wet path the others tongue leaves that makes his skin tingle and a shiver run through him at the contrast of it with the air.
"Michael," he huffs in response because he's impatient but that also just turns him on. He drags his fingers over the other's scalp and along the back of his neck. "How often am I not capable of forming sentences."
"Not very," Michael admits, even as his hand moves inward to ghost up Alex's cock with a light-as-air touch. "Which is what makes it a goal, obviously."
He lifts his head to flash Alex an impudent grin before going back to his slow worship of every inch of skin he can on Alex's torso, steadily moving lower.
Alex inhales sharply when the other's hand teases with that just barely there touch. He pressed his head back and lets out his breath shakily. "Don't like that goal," he complains lightly -- none too seriously as he rolls his eyes when he catches the other's grin.
"I don't think you're in any position to really protest," Michael says, before his teeth catch Alex's nipple, and his fingertips traces circles over Alex's hipbone.
"Y'know, you could just pretend to be speechless," he suggested, as his mouth moves down over the plane of Alex's stomach. It won't quite be his actual goal, of driving Alex out of his head, making him stop thinking, but at least he could pretend.
Alex had been about to say something in protest but the other's teeth are on his nipple, his fingertips further teasing him and he just moans, back arching ever upward. He exhales as he opens his eyes and watches as Michael keeps moving lower, his breath quick, anticipating.
