Is he okay? Yes. He's better than okay in some ways. Except... There's another thing going on. A lot of other things.

"You ever get so excited that you can't think about anything but that?"

[garrrr]

"A few times," Gar says, nodding and he bites his lip a little. Somehow for the first time he's starting to let himself feel happy about all this -- like really happy.

"It's that. Like... how can I even EAT when all I can think about is putting food in our little one's mouth?"

Stupid instincts.

[garrrr]

Gar stirs the soup idly. He's already feeling kind of full and he really hadn't ate that much and he's pretty sure he's going to push his luck on the nausea thing soon.

"It's gonna be a while before we can put food in their mouth."

[doubled_speed]

"Putting food in you puts food in him," Tommy counters. He can feed his baby by feeding his man.

[garrrr]

"And I need you to take care of you too or I'm gonna worry," Gar counters back easily. He sets down the bowl.

[doubled_speed]

"Trust me, when my stomach chills the fuck out, I'll eat," Tommy promises, moving to nuzzle against Gar's neck. "Later. For now... fuck. I'm caught up in this important detail. We're gonna have a kid."

Gar closes his eyes as the other nuzzles his neck and he hums softly as he soaks in that moment of intimacy with Tommy. He reaches to run his fingers through the other's hair, holding his head close.

"Twins aren't like...a thing that runs in your family or something are they?"

"That's... a really complex question," Tommy sighs. But part of him REALLY wants it to. "Like, Wanda and Pietro, twins. But Wanda MADE us with magic, and we're not even THOSE bio kids. So I've got no clue."

[garrrr]

Gar is a bit conflicted. The idea of one baby is scary and the idea of two? It's double scary but double exciting. He chews on his bottom lip.

"Complicated, huh," he laughs.

[doubled_speed]

"Yeah," Tommy answers. ANd he doesn't even know much about the Shepherd family. "I... if it was twins, I'd want a boy and a girl. And to give them REALLY different names."

[garrrr]

At least the idea of twins doesn't seem to freak Tommy out and he can't help but think that it's a possibility but still...complicated.

"We don't really get to choose but ideal world," he says and reaches to tug the other down so he could settle close into him.

They're definitely too early in to really think about that. Or names. Or where they'll live as a family.

"No. But... we'll have a good family. I think."

[garrrr]

Still, all those thoughts keep coming up.

"I know."

[doubled_speed]

Yeah, it does. Because Tommy wants his kid or kids to grow up in a city. To let them meet all sorts of people and get all sorts of advantages. but they've got time.

"Is... there a name you'd want?"

[garrrr]

"I don't know..." Gar says, grinning a little bit.

"Something not mock worthy."

[doubled_speed]

"But a lot of things are mockable. If you've got a smarter class of bully," Tommy muses.

[garrrr]

"Okay but Garfield," Gar counters.

[doubled_speed]

"Dude, you were screwed by comics," Tommy dismisses.

[garrrr]

"Still," Gar laughs.

"What about you?"

[doubled_speed]

Really? Tommy rolls his eyes.

"Thomas the tank engine."

[garrrr]

"You think you can, you think you can..." Gar laughs.

[doubled_speed]

"That's the little engine that could," Tommy dismisses but he moves to kiss his boyfriend's.... his mate's brow.

"We've got time I guess."

[garrrr]

"They're not the same thing?" Gar asks and seriously he didn't know. He smiles at the kiss to his brow and he reaches to cup the other's cheek.

"Yeah, we got plenty of time."

[doubled_speed]

"Not the same thing," Tommy agrees. But that isn't here or there.

"I hate Thomas anyway. Thomas was a coward that bowed in front of adversity. Tommy's a better name."
