Huaisang makes a soft sound in disagreement at the other taking fault. Wangji was always doing it even when he didn’t have anything to be blamed for but perhaps in this they are both to blame. He watches Wangji carefully, staying tangled up with him and it’s warm and feels... safe? And the other seems to be relaxing a little more, or is that Huaisang’s imagination — he just can’t be sure.

What came last had Huaisang truly surprised. He lifted himself up onto one elbow but not pulling away, not removing his hand from the others body. He just wants a better look at the others face. Huaisang’s hair is in need of fixing but he doesn’t mind it.

“You would like us to share our burdens?” Huaisang questions. His fingers rub idly on his skin as he thinks about it, trying to decipher exactly what Lan Wangji is getting at. “Are you wanting to continue seeking comfort?”
