Doug thinks that he has probably always taken Christmas for granted. It’s not that he was ungrateful but after meeting Evie and the others he realized how special all those years had been with his loving and rather large family. He’s happy that Evie gets to be a part of it all now too. And she’s never looked more beautiful than we she comes upon him keeping toasty by the fire. Then again, he always thinks every time is the most beautiful she’s ever been. He’s forever smitten by her.
