[ Jeremy gets back from Laila's place where he went to just hang for a while to get his mind off of things. He doesn't leave Jean alone a whole lot, but he needed some time out of the house. Even then, he ended up texting Jean anyway, because it felt more comfortable. He knows Jean doesn't feel the same, but for Jeremy, the other man has been a nice constant around the house.
Getting home, he knows where he'll find Jean, so he heads to his room, knocking on the door frame as he pokes his head in.]
[ Jean hadn't really thought very much about the texts because they are, oddly enough, just becoming the normal with Jeremy. He still doesn't message anyone else much aside from Renee pretty regularly. She says a lot more than he does but he supposes that's also pretty normal.
He's sitting at his desk studying and the fish is on his desk, well fed and it's habitat kept well cleaned and such. ]
Hi. [ Jean returns, without looking up from what he was highlighting. ]
[ Seeing Jean studying even in the summer is not particularly unusual. Jeremy can't imagine what he must be studying for, but he knows the schedule at Edgar Allen was a lot different from what they're used to here. Still, sometimes Jeremy wishes he would take more of a break and try to get used to a more lax schedule, but he knows that will only happen with time. ]
[ The studying was less necessary but it kept him occupied and centered and prepared for the next semester and so forth. He enjoyed it, or maybe not so much enjoyed as it kept him from having to figure out what else to do with his time. ]
[ Jeremy can think of about a hundred other things he could do with his time other than study, but he supposes that's why he's an athlete. Not the only reason, of course, but the team jokes around about it sometimes. Jean is such a good studier that he might even be a good influence on that front, come fall. ]
Do you wanna take a break? I bet you've been at it the entire time I was gone.
[ Well, Jeremy isn't wrong about that. Jean had been studying for most of the day barring when he had been working out and then he'd gone for a run. He doubts Jeremy really counts that as much different than studying the whole time. ]
[ He would, actually. Working out and going for a run is something Jeremy would pick over studying any day, so that would definitely be a different thing. He feels like a slacker today- getting drunk last night, sleeping in this morning, only getting back home now.
He vaguely wonders if Jean really noticed him being gone, or if he was just holed up in here studying some more]
Yeah, sure. If you don't mind. I was thinking maybe we could grab a bite to eat? I could use some sun.
[The last thing that Jean had thought was a good idea when he was taken out of Evermore was to stay at Palmetto. He'd hidden in Abby's house for a long time before the new contract was settled and even then... It wasn't wise to stay here, when Kevin's still there but somehow, contracts were signed and he and Kevin were supposed to figure it out.
When he got to the tower, the rooming assignments had gotten a lot of side eyes, Andrew, Nicky, Jean in a room, Aaron and Kevin moving in with Matt and Neil. Andrew is probably the last person that Jean wanted to room with.
But they'd found some semblance of normalcy and Jean struggled to find normal sleep, to keep up with the new way his classes were scheduled, exy was the only thing that was mostly the same if less rigorous -- he spent many extra hours training, though.
Somewhere along the line, vodka had become his companion much like it had been Kevin and he sat in the main room of the dorm he shared with the others, holding up a book he's reading for class with one hand and a bottle of vodka with the other.]
