"You don't know what I've done, Teddy," Gar says and he regrets saying it, exhaling shakily against the other's chest. How does Teddy say I love you so easily? Gar had come around to saying it but it doesn't come out as often or easily even if he very much does love Teddy.

[hybrid_prince]

"No, I don't. But there you go," Teddy says, his hand coming up to curl around Gar's jaw. "I love you no matter what."

[garrrr]

Gar doesn't completely believe that but Teddy doesn't ask and so he doesn't tell him. He swallows as he looks up at him feeling his hand warm on his jaw.

"I love you," he finally says.

[hybrid_prince]

Oh. Oh that definitely gets Teddy's heart going. He blushes a little from it.

"Well, that makes me happy. This smile? It's real. And only yours."

[garrrr]

Gar smiles and it's mostly real. He tightens his arms around Teddy.

"I kind of want you to spend the night and hold me."

[hybrid_prince]

"Yeah, I can do that. But, uh... let me get some pajamas first?"

[garrrr]

"Okay," Gar agrees.

[hybrid_prince]

"But... I don't want to head back to my apartment. So maybe you'll come to the store with me and help me pick out ones you like the look of?"

IT's, if nothing else, a peace offering.

[garrrr]

"Yeah, of course," Gar smiles again and he leans up and presses a quick kiss to Teddy's lips but he doesn't linger as he pulls away from his hold.

[hybrid_prince]

"Let me lower us to the alley, okay?"

Teddy smiles as he kisses his boyfriend's brow.

[garrrr]

"Okay," Gar says and bites his lip at the kiss to his brow. And he'll hold onto Teddy for that.

[hybrid_prince]

"I'll never let you get hurt," he promises, wrapping his arms around Gar and spreading wings again. It's a far shorter flight. He lands in the alley very quickly and then he's just Teddy again. And he offers his hand to Gar.

"We'll walk the rest of the way."

[garrrr]

Gar is in a less panicky state, relaxed as the other took him to the ground. He takes Teddy's hand without hesitation.

"I'm good with that," he laughs and when they start walking. "Do you think Billy and Dawn were working together?"

[hybrid_prince]

"Probably. Billy may love comics and really cheesy movies, but he couldn't and wouldn't have come up with that on his own. Too romcom."

He loved the guy, but he didn't think Billy capable of it.

[garrrr]

"I think Dawn could have," Gar says and he bites the inside of his cheek, leaning to press his cheek against the other's bicep as they walk.

"Kind of annoying but I guess I'm glad too."

[hybrid_prince]

That's a nice place to have a cheek. And if Teddy shifts his skin to be just a touch softer to be resting against, well, it's clearly just for him.

"She cared about you, Gar. That is lucky."

[garrrr]

Gar smiles a little.

"Yeah," he says, squeezing Teddy's hand. "I guess so."

He's quiet for a moment. "We should pick up some food too."

[hybrid_prince]

"Let me buy you dinner. Somewhere nice?"

[garrrr]

“I should be the one buying you dinner...” Gar says, tilting his head up so he can look at Teddy’s face.

[hybrid_prince]

"You're the one giving me a bed for a night," Teddy grins.

[garrrr]

“That’s more because I don’t want to sleep without you tonight...” Gar says, tilting his head again back to look forward.

“You’re already having to buy pajamas.”

[hybrid_prince]

"Well, I definitely want to snuggle right up against you, so that works."

[garrrr]

Gar grins a little. "So you're going to let me buy dinner?"

[hybrid_prince]

"Well... I suppose so," Teddy allows at last. "But I get to buy breakfast."

[garrrr]

"I think I can live with that."

Gar glances up at him briefly again.

"How are you so..." He almost says perfect but he doesn't think Teddy likes that. "Good."
