I'm not really being the impressive soulmate. I should have gotten you some noise canceling headphones too. But I'll be there soon. I promise. Just give me a bit. I've got to fly out there.

Teddy, it’s seriously fine. I’m fine. I’ll see you when you get here.

[Well, when he shows up, it's only been twenty minutes, with a very serious flying. He looks tired as he approaches. Exhausted. But he smiles and moves to wrap his soulmate into his arms and holds him close.]

Hey love.

[ Aiden's expression floods with relief and then a big smile when he sees Teddy. He wraps his arms around him as well, pressing his face into the other's neck and inhaling his scent a bit shamelessly. The city's already overwhelming for him, so much sound and smell that his heightened senses aren't really used to has his nerves on edge.

But it fades away mostly with Teddy's arms. ]

I missed you.

[Being scented like that? Teddy's down for that. So down for that.]

Missed you so much, babe. Gotta warn you, this... isn't as bad as the city gets. It's noisier. But come on, let's go get the subway. Can I take your bag?

I've seen movies.

[ Not that really do anything justice. He's pretty sure he'll feel on edge most of his time here but he didn't want Teddy to know that. He lets Teddy start to lead him toward the subway and carry his bag. ]

You don't have to spoil me, you now.

[He'll get earplugs or something. But every moment of tension in Aiden's shoulders just makes Teddy feel guilty for even suggesting this visit.]

I do, though. It's what you do when you love someone.

[ It'll get better eventually as he gets used to a bit but it's a lot all at once. He leans closer to Teddy as they walk. ]

I can't manage to spoil you half as much.

You spoil me with the way you love me, babe.

[He smiles, leaning against Aiden as he moves them down the stairs to the subway.]

[ Aiden sticks close to Teddy as they enter the subway. He's pretty sure if he didn't he would be running back up the stairs. ]

How long does it take to get to your place?

Oh, you know, twenty minutes. Sorry, the subway is great, but it’s still a busy city. But my place is pretty quiet anyway.

[ Aiden exhales and he just leans a little more into Teddy, focusing on his scent, the sound of his breathing. ]

I'll adjust to it.

If not, we can get earplugs to sleep with.

[The scent is nice, has to be nice. He smiles and pulls Aiden along with him, into the train. And he settles them down into a seat, keeping the suitcases close and his partner closer.]

That just sounds uncomfortable.

[ Aiden laughs and he shakes his head as they get into the train and as they sit down he rests his head on Teddy's shoulder, closing his eyes. ]

Guess I could ask Billy to come over and sound proof the place.

[He'd call his ex, just for his lover. Yep, no problems there.]

I’ll be find, Teddy. How am I ever going to get used to it if I don’t deal with it? You can’t and don’t always want to come to the Bayou.

[ And maybe he doesn’t like the idea of Billy being the solution. ]

I could... I could just come to you.

[He looks so... worried as he looks at Aiden. Teddy was, after all, a sweet, adoring boyfriend that only wanted his partner to be comfortable.]

That's not fair and you know it.

[ Aiden frowns as he glances down the subway car and then just closes his eyes as he rests his head back on Teddy's shoulder. ]

Just give me time to get used to it.

[hybrid_prince]

It's not fair, and I don't care. I love you enough to do it.

[Still, his hands card in Aiden's hair, because he wants to soothe the man.]

[ Aiden lets out a low sound of frustration even as he likes the way the other's hand moves through his hair. ]

But I'm asking you not to, don't you love me enough to let me try to do this?

Oh, I so do. I love you more than the sun and the stars, my mate.

[Yep, he's definitely calling the guy that, even as he leans in to kiss his temple.]

I'm just saying that if at any point, you decide you don't like the idea, I'll manage it. I don't care if I have to try and talk Billy or Dr. Strange into a magical door between my rooms at Avenger's Manor and somewhere near you."

[ Aiden teases Teddy but he loves every bit of it and always will. ]

Just stop expecting to need to do that. I think I got this.

[Okay. He'll... try. That's what his face says after all.]

Okay. I just sorta want this to be perfect. I know you're not going to come up here as often, so I wanted to make it sorta magical.

[ Aiden leans up to press a kiss to Teddy's lips even though they're definitely in public and all. ]

All I need is for you to be here, babe. I'm happy to see you.
