It feels better to have Nie Huaisang close, to have him nearby, almost within arm's reach. He has always been a touch over-protective, careful when it comes to his younger brother, and the entire world has been aware of it. His disciples know better than to try and pressure Huaisang when Mingjue is around - but that doesn't mean he can get away with everything.

There's a reason Mingjue keeps sending him back to Gusu. His brother is intelligent; he wished more people were able to see it.

Lifting a hand, he reaches for Huaisang, drawing him closer - almost enough to tug him onto his lap and keep him there. Then he can cuddle into him and feel anchored again for a moment, feeling safe knowing his brother is so nearby.

"Of course."

Huaisang can't help but grin when Mingjue reaches for him, letting himself be drawn closer and be held. He wraps his arms around the other in a tight hug and even if the other didn't do enough to tug him onto his lap, Huaisang put himself there shamelessly. After spending so long in Gusu it's a relief to be able to curl into him and rest his cheek on the other man's shoulder.

"You could stop sending me away then," Huaisang points out, playful teasing in his tone as he does.

There's something more than just comforting from having his brother back at his side; it feels as though stress has faded from him and he can simply be, letting himself relax and calm in a way he cannot when Huaisang is far from his side.

"You need to have an education," Mingjue replies, voice softer now. "It is what is best."

Huaisang keeps his arms wrapped tight around his brother, nuzzling his shoulder and letting his nose brush against his throat slightly.

"I can have an education here."

Mingjue sighs softly, squeezing him just a little.

"Not the same kind and you know it. Do not be a fool." But his hand is gentle, soft as it rests on Huaisang's back. "I know you and I hate to part, but it must be done."

Huaisang relaxes more at the squeeze and sighs a bit contently.

"You should admit you miss me when I'm gone more often," Huaisang teases Mingjue, his fingers reaching up to brush the line of his jaw slowly.

"Why? It will make you greedier than you already are."

But he leans into the touch, eyes closing as he breathes out gently.

"Spoiled, even."

"You like how greedy I am, da ge," Huaisang counters, lifting his head to look at Mingjue straight on, his fingers brushing through some of his hair and he leans in a little.

"And you spoil me still."

"I have never said that."

But it's true. He likes that Huaisang can bridge the gap between them, that his brother knows what he wants and asks for it, takes it. It makes life easier for him as both a doting brother and a wanting lover. Tilting his head, he refuses to let himself smile.

"That will have to end, then, since you are being so arrogant."

"You didn't have to," Huaisang counters with a small smirk. He highly doubts Mingjue will ever stop spoiling him. "Perhaps you should put me in my place, da ge," he says lowly, fingers curling into his hair and his head dips to press his lips against his jaw, letting his tongue tease out and lick along the line of his jaw.

"I've tried that before. Will practice work, Huaisang?"

Practice is fine with him, really, and he tilts his head, lets the kisses and the flick of tongue be before than enough for him, eyes flickering closed for a moment.

"Do that again."

"We won't know until you practice more," Huaisang answers nonchalantly. He hums happily and enjoys getting his brother to react to him in this way. So he's quick to oblige him, drawing his tongue along the line of his jaw again nipping at it a few times as well.

"A punishment shouldn't be something you enjoy," he comments quietly, tilting his head and humming softly. One hand strokes up Huaisang's back gently, tracing the length of his spine.

Huaisang rolls his eyes and there's a soft laugh against the other's jaw before a little lower, shivering at the stroke against the sensitive line of his spine, making him arch just slightly at the touch.

"You could... bind my hands or blindfold me and deprive me of being able to to touch you or see you. It would truly be a punishment."

There's just a hint of playfulness to the suggestion.

Luckily, for all his terseness and ability to reign in his brother, Nie Mingjue is more than happy to let some of the tension fade from his shoulders. He breathes out - only to turn Huaisang's face to kiss him properly as he speaks.

"You are a danger," he admits, shaking his head. "Take your pick. Whichever one is what we will do tonight."

Huaisang returns the kiss, happy to take it and indulge in the taste of the older man while he could.

"I'm a danger?" Huaisang laughs and shakes his head. "Tie my hands, I've already been without you in my sight for too long."

"A danger and a menace," he scoffs, leaning back. His eyes drag over Huaisang for a moment, drinking him in, before he softens.

He's never been good at denying his brother.

"You haven't asked me nicely."

"I'm completely innocent," Huaisang tries not to laugh as he says it. They both know how not true it is. He basks under his older brother's gaze, raising a brow at him. He shifts, his fingertips tracing the other's lips briefly just taking another touch.

"I shouldn't have to ask nicely for a punishment, da ge," he counters, leaning in close. "If you think I deserve it then give it to me.

The comment makes Mingjue laugh almost immediately, a sharp bark that settles down as quickly as it comes. He shakes his head, letting Huaisang do as he pleases, before he breathes out.

"I'd still like to hear it," he finally replies, but he shakes his head. "Here?"

Ah... Huaisang feels a thrill at his brother's laugh. It's too rare a thing and even now too short. He still relishes it. He presses a kiss to Mingjue's lips and lets his forehead rest against his for a moment.

"Da ge, please tie me up wherever and however you want me," Huaisang asks in his sweetest voice punctuating it with a roll of his hips.

"Since you have asked so nicely." It doesn't take much for Mingjue to lift himself up, Huaisang in his arms, and turn towards his bed. He'd rather do it there than sitting in the middle of his floor, no matter how needy Huaisang might be.

"Am I going to have to take your clothes off too?"

Huaisang's arms wrap around the other as he's lifted up and taken to bed. His hands are moving immediately to the fastenings on his robes to work himself out of his clothes quickly. He usually is careful when he undresses but he's too eager, too horny and they're discarded rather carelessly as he's just intent on baring himself to Mingjue.

"You do say that as if you would mind ripping them off of me."

All Mingjue can do is smile, laughing softly as he settles his brother down, shaking his head. There's no shame in wanting, he knows that, but there's also something charming and almost sweet about how desperately Huaisang wants. It leaves him feeling warm, overwhelmingly so, in the best of ways.

"I wouldn't, but that would mean I would have to buy you more." He shakes his head, leaning over him. "And you have enough already."

"I do not have enough," Huaisang counters. There's no such thing as too many things. He looks up at Mingjue now divested of his clothes and his breathing is uneven, anticipating all the things they can and would do to each other.

"I don't have enough of you either," he adds, reaching up to pull his head down and his lips to his own in a hungry kiss.
