He reaches out and hooks his arm through the other man's, drawing closer so that he can try to absorb what body heat he can. He knows that he should probably just go inside but he can't help himself. He prefers being outside and this kind of weather just makes him go a little stir crazy. being cooped up inside all day is unpleasant.
well...not completely unpleasant. At least he has Lan Wangji to keep him company and distract him when he starts to get bored.
He considers Wei Ying for a moment and then silently pulls away the fur-lined outer robe he had on. The cold doesn't bother him as much as it does most people. He drapes it around the other's shoulders but still lets him stay close despite them being outside.
He grins and tugs that new cloak around his shoulders a little tighter. Of course the other man would worry about his well being. "Don't worry Lan Zhan. I'm not going to get sick just from being out in the cold. I'm not that weak."
Even without a golden core he is still able to function well enough. He figures he can handle a little cold weather for a few minutes.
Wangji is silent and he doesn't argue. Still, it is also the other's comfort he worries about but if the other wants to be outside then he will not press him to go back inside just yet.
"I do. Just think of all the things we are missing by staying cooped up inside. We would miss all this nice scenery. We could be having a snowball fight. And best of all...once we get cold enough then we can enjoy getting warmed back up when we do go inside."
Whatever that might entail. There are plenty of ways to get warm.
Wangji smiles slightly and he shakes his head almost imperceptibly at the mention of a snowball fight. He couldn't possibly! He nods, though, his arm tightening around the other's waist to hold him close.
"We will stay warmer longer if we walk around. Let's take a little stroll and then we can head back." He doesn't actual[y believe he will get that much warmer if he is walking in the cold air but he does want the chance to stretch his legs a little more before settling in for the day and evening.
Wangji nods and he keeps his arm around Wuxian as they start to walk.
Wangji actually isn't all that fond of snow at times. There are some
memories that are harsher in the snow than in other times but with Wuxian
he can appreciate it's beauty all the more. He stays quiet for the
meanwhile.
He easily falls into step with the taller man, enjoying the warmth of the contact as they stroll through the cold. "After this walk you can lock me inside until spring if you want." Because he is sure that he will be having his fill of the cold once they are done. But he might as well see the snow once a season.
"Mm..I know, Lan Zhan." He doesn't actually get locked away. It's not like the mother that was whisked away to be hidden. He can actually come and go as he pleases. But he knows that Lan zhan also wanted to bring him here and keep him safe just like his mother for a long time.
"I don't mind being locked up as long as you are there with me."
"Ooh?" He tilts his head to look up at the other man. They do a little bit of traveling around doing night hunts but there is something about how Lan Zhan says this that makes him think this is different.
"Are you wanting to take a little vacation?" Nothing wrong with wanting to travel around together. He does wonder about all the obligations that Lan Zhan has and if he could simply leave all of that behind for any amount of time.
He doesn't answer right away at the question. He does have a lot of responsibilities. His mind is slowly turning over the idea and if planned well then it could be managed.
"It's been a long time since we've traveled around. It would be good to get out." He tries to not look too excited by the idea of it. But he can't help the smile on his face. They go out to town and to visit Lotus Pier and night hunts...but to actually travel around to someplace else is something they haven't had much opportunity for.
"Where would you go?" Wangji asks softly. He doesn't mind a location as much as the journey with Wuxian. Traveling with him had always been something that he enjoyed.
"Anywhere we haven't been before." An adventure to somewhere new. Something new to see and do and experience. New food and wine to try. But even if they can't find somewhere they haven't been before he would be happy to return to somewhere they have been. Even in a place they have explored there is likely new things to see.
