Ellie smirks behind the donut, chewing as she reaches for her coffee cup. She knows Yukio will have gotten one that's black and strong, just the way Ellie likes it.
"I always need coffee," she jokes, her voice deadpan. But of course Yukio will read the humor behind it.
Yukio rolls her eyes but she's smiling brightly as she takes a sip of hers and grabs a donut and takes a bite and then a drink of coffee at the same time.
"Are you just that happy for donuts today?" she teases all the same.
Only Yukio is allowed to tease Ellie. (Though Wade keeps trying to anyway.) So she smiles, taking the jab a little awkwardly before sighing a happy sigh.
"Maybe I'm just that excited to watch cartoons with my girlfriend."
Yukio would say that Wade is allowed to tease Ellie if only because he doesn't actually get beaten up every time he does it and she knows that Ellie actually does care about Wade too. Still, Yukio knows she's special and that Ellie is even more special to her.
Ellie can't help but roll her eyes, though there's no malice behind it. She takes another sip of her black coffee before setting the cup down on the bedside table to reach over and grab the remote to start playing their favorite cartoon.
Ellie smiles and hits play, ducking her head so the smile stays relatively hidden. Even though it's just the two of them, she's still shy about showing her affection.
Yukio notices and she knows. She doesn't mind that Ellie is shy even when they're alone. It's really cute! She'd rarely say so though, she doesn't point it out.
"Well, probably no one because they are amazing," Yukio laughs and
she reaches to grab Ellie's wrist to bring the donut up so Yukio can steal
a bite of mostly creme.

She reaches across to grab said Boston creme and take a bite, using the donut as an excuse to not have to talk any more.
