When he heard that Ranpo was injured... there was nothing that Poe would do to keep from showing up at his place. It sounded grave, whatever the injury was. He knew Ranpo had previously been working a case, and... really, he assumed that's where he'd gotten hurt. So, that's how he's ended up here.
Kneeling in front of Ranpo, with his hands both working to prepare to clean up a small gash on his side.
"Why... didn't you go to your doctor?"
Poe asks, finishing wetting the small cloth with the alcohol, moving to carefully wipe at the wound, his hands shaking as he brings it up to him.
"Because, she's more life threatening than this," Ranpo says cheerfully. He definitely didn't need her administrations! He wouldn't want those unless he was literally on death's door. And after all, he's having a bit of fun letting Poe take care of him instead. Of course, the injury isn't really serious at all, little more than a scratch in his opinion but Poe looks so concerned and dire.
There is a soft hiss when the other wipes at the open wound, the alcohol stinging. He could've held it in, if it was anyone but Poe taking care of him.
... Ranpo isn't wrong. He can definitely see Yosano standing over menacingly, with that smile of hers, making him fear further and further for his life the longer she stands there. Poe offers a little nod, his brows knitting further as the little hiss was let out. Poor Ranpo, dealing with such a painful experience, needing to suffer and struggle all for the sake of healing from a grievous wound!
"We may need to soak it," Poe mentions, "To make sure nothing got inside. No dirt, germs, anything of that sort. I can run you a bath...?" He carefully presses the cloth fully against Ranpo, looking up at him from on his knees. "Hold this here."
It's so fun to make Poe worry and fret, far, far more than is necessary. He can barely keep up the act since he wants to laugh so much. Ranpo smothers a laugh and smile as he holds the cloth.
"You'll be able to bathe alone, yes?" Poe asks, moving his hand to rest against Ranpo's hip, to hold him in place. He then uses that to shift and stand up, adjusting his position there are lifting himself up onto his feet.
"Oh~, I don't know. I might need your help," Ranpo says -- a bit too
nonchalantly to be honest but he's sure Poe won't even notice how he's
being played just now.
